Planning your care or have questions

We can offer, assistance and support to client’s that have suffered a stroke, either recently or in the past.

A stroke can affect the way a person’s body works as well as how they think, feel, and communicate.

We work with clients who have suffered:

  • ISCHAEMIC STROKE – Caused by a blockage cutting off the blood supply to the brain.
  • HAEMORRHAGIC STROKE – Caused by bleeding in or around the brain.
  • TRANSIENT ISCHAEMIC ATTACK OR TIA – Known as a mini stroke. Symptoms last for a short amount of time and no longer than 24 hours. This is because the blockage that stops the blood getting to your brain is temporary.

Paramount Live-in Care believe anyone affected by a stroke should maintain the highest quality of life. We offered caring, empathetic, and person- centred care in their home, including rehabilitation, personal care, domestic care and support. You can get more information from The Stroke Association on www.stroke.org.uk.

Please note this is not an extensive list of the conditions we offer care and support for, we do provide care for a variety conditions. If your condition is not listed here, please call us as our services are available to anyone over the aged of 18. We can provide care and support ranging from low care needs to higher complex care needs.

Our Introduction Service:

Please call us to discuss your care and support needs including any special or individual requirements you may have. We will then arrange an assessment that can take up to one hour in your own home. During the assessment we take all the necessary details which enables us to create a detailed and specific care plan. This will include things like: what you like for breakfast and when, any personal care needs, medication requirements and household tasks required. We aim to compile a guide to everything that you’d like our help with on a day to day basis. We also carry out a risk assessment for your safety.

We will then match you with a suitable member of our care team, that has already been selected, interviewed, fully vetted (including professional referencing, a recent police check, and visa checks if required) and fully trained to CCQ standards. Once we select the carer we will send you over a detailed profile of the carer, informing you of all the information you need to know about them. Please note we only recruit carers that reside in the UK.

Under our introduction service, once the right carer has been selected for you, you are then free to engage them with them directly as they work on a self-employed basis. For your reassurance we do check that all self-employed carers have registered with HMRC as self-employed. This ensures they pay tax and national insurance on their earnings. The carer and yourself will jointly agree to terms of the engagement, which will set out all of the terms and ensures that everyone understands the process. For example: you are not employing the carer directly therefore you have no employment or tax responsibilities. You simply pay them once a month, the sum agreed. Self-employment is a cost effective way for arranging live-in care, but via our introduction service you have the security that all the necessary checks have been carried out in advance and that the carers have been screened and deemed professional to work with you. Should the carer suffer an illness or must leave in an emergency we will send a suitable replacement. Both you and the carer also have the benefit of the support, knowledge, and guidance from the company. This service is very cost effective and offers you security and professionalism. The cost is about the same as hiring a private carer but does not come with all the problems and unreliability that often occurs.

This service can be offered on a long or short term basis, for respite cover, cover whilst a family member takes a holiday, convalescence care to assist recuperation or to support with returning to health.

Our Managed Care Service

Please call us to discuss your individual care and support needs including any special or individual requirements you may have. We will then come and arrange an assessment that can take up to one hour in your own home. During the assessment we take details enabling us to create a detailed and specific care plan which will be given to your carer. Your care plan will include things like: what you like for breakfast and when, any personal care needs, medication requirements and household tasks required. We aim to prepare a guide of all task with which you require support on a day to day basis. We also carry out a risk assessment for your safety.

We will then match you with a suitable member of our employed care team, that has already been selected, interviewed, fully vetted (including professional references, recent police check, visa checks if required) and fully trained to CCQ standards. Many already hold the prestigious Health and Social Care Diploma. Your carer will receive ongoing professional development and training from us including yearly updated training. We employ your carer directly, meaning we are directly responsible for: paying them every month, deducting their tax and national insurance and paying their holiday pay. We will simply send you or your advocate one monthly invoice.

Paramount Live-in Care will provide you or your advocate with a contract of services and a client guide to ensure you have all the details to hand. The Registered Manager will then oversee your care package and assist with any additional help you may require as well as the help and support of the carer. This could be for tasks such as liaising with your Social worker or Occupational Therapist for example. The Registered Manager will also carry out regular assessments at your home to ensure you happy with your carer and the service. This will include a review and update of your care plan and the risk assessment. We will supply medical grade gloves for your carer to use and medication sheets. Your carer will complete a daily care record that will be stored safely and confidentially in your care plan folder – these can be helpful to nurses or doctors. Both you and the carer will have the benefit of the support, knowledge, and guidance from the company. This service is very cost effective and again offers you security and professionalism. The cost is a little more than our introduction service but a vital reassurance for some of our clients. This service is fully regulated and monitored by the Care Quality Commission.
